We Are Still Here: The Endurance of Native Jewels” was co-created with the museum’s Native American Advisory Board. This first-of-its-kind exhibit highlighted the historical and contemporary use of dentalium shells and elk teeth as adornments. By handing curatorial control to five artist advisors, the museum demonstrated its ongoing commitment to elevating Indigenous voice and representation. Based at The Hearth, TLC’s hub for culture and education, the program offers hands-on workshops led by master artists. By encouraging skill transmission and collaborative creation, Reviving Roots ensures the vibrancy of traditional arts, while cultivating reverence for nature, material culture, and community connection.
