San Diego Potters' Guild
The San Diego Potters’ Guild is a community of more than 40 ceramic artists working in Studio 29 in Balboa Park’s historic Village Arts Center. Dedicated to supporting its members and inspiring public appreciation for ceramics, the Guild offers ongoing educational opportunities and outreach.
Studio 29 includes a gallery, a working studio with wheels, and both electric and gas kilns. Visitors can explore a wide range of handmade functional and decorative ceramics and often watch potters at work. The Guild presents rotating themed exhibitions in its central gallery, and its large semiannual sales each June and November fill the Village Arts Center patio with thousands of pieces. Members also teach classes for adults and children, and the Guild hosts annual workshops.
Membership is juried and limited, with applications reviewed once a year in the spring when openings are available.
