Bring some food to share, and come hang out as we fire the pots, watch us pull them from the kiln while they’re red hot, enjoy the drama and excitement of the reduction flames, and walk away with a truly unique memento (or three).

In conjunction with Suzanne Sullivan’s solo exhibition The Wilderness of Mirrors, join us at Brooklyn Metal Works for a chess tournament celebrating stealth, strategy, and subterfuge. Ceramicists Maggie Boyd and Julia Elsas will join Sullivan in this collaborative event, each creating a handmade chess board that will be set up for gameplay. Sign up to challenge the artists and immerse yourself in The Wilderness of Mirrors!

Nine artists will work together to create a custom glass fountain that will be installed at Powell Gardens from May 2 to June 21, 2026. View these artists at work at the Belger Glass Annex while they create an ambitious piece inspired by Kansas City’s distinction as the “City of Fountains.”

Join us for a week of Open Studio Residencies to celebrate Handwork 2026.
Get your craft on with a passionate cohort of fellow artists, makers, and craft enthusiasts and the support of Snow Farm housing and meals. Residencies include ample personal space in a shared studio with about half as many people per studio than our typical workshops.
All 8 of our studios are available: 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Fibers, Flameworking, Flat Glass & Mosaics, Metals & Jewelry, or Woodworking.

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is a nationally recognized juried festival featuring over 200 artists from across the country.
Nearly half of participating artists work in fine craft disciplines, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, wood, and metal.
The festival creates meaningful opportunities for the community to connect with artists and gain insight into their materials, techniques, and creative inspiration.
