Explore San Diego through the institutions, artists, craftspeople, and designers who make our craft community. Each weekend in July, a different neighborhood will be activated through interactive craft programming.
Enjoy exhibitions, tours, workshops, demonstrations, make-and-takes, and shop artisan crafts at the most vibrant craft organizations in the region. In conjunction with Handwork 2026.

Come see fine handcrafts in the studios where they are made. On the second weekend of November, follow our map and visit as many central Virginia studios as you please.
Visitors can watch demonstrations, chat with artisans, shop for fine handmade goods, and rub elbows with other craft afficionados.

The San Diego Potters’ Guild is delighted to participate in the National Crafts Open Weekend organized by the American Craft Council. Throughout this two‑day event, we’ll offer pottery demonstrations and hands‑on activities from 12pm to 5pm.
Guild members will also be available in the gallery to welcome visitors, answer questions, and share insights into our work.

This opportunity is held in conjunction with the Hermitage Museum’s special exhibition, Handwork at the Hermitage: A National Collaboration with Craft in America.
A juried residency aims to support and amplify the work of regional artists and craftspeople while creating an opportunity for museum visitors to engage with contemporary art and craft.
Artists will have the opportunity to interface with visitors, make connections with the community, and help educate the public about their craft.

Get a sneak peek of the glass blowing production of the Fountain Project 2026!
Nine artists will work together to create a custom glass fountain that will be installed at Powell Gardens from May 2 to June 21, 2026. View these artists at work at the Belger Glass Annex while they create an ambitious piece inspired by Kansas City’s distinction as the “City of Fountains.”

The Art of Raku
Raku is a dramatic pottery firing process in which a piece is quickly brought to a high temperature and then rapidly cooled.
