Arts & Crafts Walking Tour
presented by
Nichols House Museum
A reaction to an increasingly industrialized world, the Arts & Crafts movement celebrated artisans and the handmade. Excited by these ideas, many Bostonians took up traditional crafts like metalworking, bookbinding, and woodworking.
Beacon Hill’s charmingly old fashioned character drew these makers as a place to live and create.
We’ll discuss some of these early 20th century artists and their work as we stroll past their homes and studios.
