M&S Schmalberg is a fourth-generation, family-owned fabric flower studio located in New York City’s historic Garment District.
Founded in 1916, the company preserves a rare American craft tradition as the last remaining domestic manufacturer of handcrafted fabric flowers. Using vintage dies and time-honored techniques, skilled artisans create custom flowers for fashion, theater, film, and special events.
M&S Schmalberg welcomes visitors for guided studio tours and hands-on flower-making experiences, offering a unique opportunity to witness and participate in this enduring craft.
The studio was featured in the EAST episode of the Peabody Award-winning PBS series Craft in America.

Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program is a nonprofit residential craft school located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains at the edge of the Pioneer Valley.
We offer 2-5 day adult craft workshops across eight studios (2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Fibers, Flameworking, Flat Glass & Mosaics, Metalsmithing & Jewelry, and Woodworking) from May to October, a teen program in July, and various studio residency programs throughout the year.

Stop, Drop, + Pose: Clay in Motion traces the evolution of clay as a time-based medium, from one of the earliest efforts in The Sculptor’s Nightmare (1908) to early television and experimental theater, to contemporary artists pushing the material into new territories of video, performance, and moving image.
While early animation popularized clay’s elasticity, today’s artists investigate its fragility, resistance, and intimacy.
