Get started on a hand-embroidered linen sampler!

Students will practice a variety of free-hand embroidery stitches, with particular emphasis on exploring combinations of different stitches to delightful effects. Students will leave with a 12” x 16” sampler in process, which can be finished as a table runner, pillow, or bag front.

Join potter Kim of Imokim Pottery to decorate a ceramic dish with a carved and painted design while enjoying a beverage from FIKA Café.

Students will decorate pre-formed dishes, perfect for snacks or trinkets. After class, the pieces will be glazed with a top clear coat and fired before returning to ASI for pick up a few weeks later.

Students will work with fresh “green” wood, a carving knife, and other hand tools to make some simple kitchen tools. This is a terrific introduction to carving for anyone hoping to carve with spoons, bowls, or other green wood projects.
