The museum celebrates 250 years of American Craft by honoring and uplifting the artistic contributions made by United States veterans.
Featured in this exhibition are two local veteran artists Jim Covarrubias and David Murrieta.
Covarrubias, a Vietnam War Army veteran, has built a prolific career as an artist and storyteller.
Murrieta, a Marine Corps Reserve veteran of Operation Desert Storm, is known for his Arizona murals and work as an educator.

America 250: Common Threads reflects on 250 years of art as civic participation. A copy of the Declaration of Independence will anchor a group of historic documents displayed alongside quilts, weavings, whirligigs, paintings, and more, from the eighteenth century to the present. Local quilters working live in the galleries will piece quilt squares made by Arkansas K-12 students and designed by artist Basil Kincaid.
The exhibition is organized in partnership with the American Folk Art Museum.

Celebrate the holidays and the 250th anniversary of American independence at the Red Mill Museum Village’s annual Festival of Trees. This year, each tree reflects on 250 years of America—through history, culture, and visions of the future.
The festival opens with the Winter Village holiday market, featuring artisan vendors, festive food, and Hands-On History demonstrations in blacksmithing, candlemaking, spinning, and more.
Proceeds support the museum’s preservation and educational programs.

An exhibition featuring 32 artists of the Women of Color Quilters Network celebrates the resilience and creativity of African American culture, utilizing quilts as a vehicle for healing, remembering and reclaiming narratives.
The quilts’ tactile and colorful qualities engage people emotionally through an artist reception (August 14), story quilt workshop/poetry reading (August 29) and ongoing gallery tours.
The exhibition is curated by Carolyn Mazloomi, a nationally acclaimed quilt artist, lecturer and founder of WCQN.
