As the country celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the League is about to launch preparations for its 100th anniversary in 2032.
With the Annual Craftsmen’s Fair used as the touchstone event to link the decades, enjoy the work and images of the League of the past through the present day. This exhibition uses photography from our archives and craft from our Permanent Collection Museum to bring history to life.

As we mark the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence, The Women’s Caucus for Art posed artists the question and call: Independence for Whom?
This juried show features 46 works by 37 artists across the country, amplifying women’s voices, celebrating stories of independence, and using art to inspire transformative changes.
The show is hosted at the Workhouse Arts Center, a former prison which held suffragists in 1917 and played a pivotal role in the fight to pass the 19th Amendment.

The Red Mill Museum Village and the Hunterdon Art Museum, in collaboration with Handwork 2026, invite the public to celebrate the opening of “The Peace Flag Project,” hundreds of handmade flags displayed along the Raritan River and pedestrian bridge.
The public is invited to the dedication ceremony, Sunday, June 14th at noon on the Main Street Bridge. Following the ceremony, both mills will have public programs emphasizing crafts, community and the State of New Jersey’s 250th anniversary.

Potters Market at the Mint is one of The Mint Museum’s most beloved annual traditions, celebrating the legacy and continued evolution of North Carolina ceramics. Bringing together artists, collectors, and visitors for a weekend centered around craft and community, the event highlights exceptional ceramic artistry while supporting the vibrant pottery traditions of the region.
In 2026, The Mint Museum proudly celebrates the 20th anniversary of Potters Market at the Mint, taking place September 25–26 at Mint Museum Randolph. Internationally renowned Pueblo artist Virgil Ortiz will serve as juror and present a free public lecture on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 PM. Known for his groundbreaking work in pottery, fashion, and contemporary Indigenous art, Ortiz brings a bold and influential perspective to this milestone year.
As part of the anniversary weekend, The Mint Museum will also host a special symposium and reception on Sunday, September 27 from 2:00–5:00 PM at Mint Museum Randolph. Acclaimed ceramic artist and scholar Mark Hewitt will deliver the keynote lecture, “The Past, Present and Future of North Carolina Ceramics,” followed by a panel discussion featuring Cynthia Bringle, Travis Owens, and Ibrahim Said.
These programs are presented as part of Craft in America’s national celebration of creativity during America’s 250th anniversary, honoring the enduring legacy and future of American craft.

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday by creating a patriotic Flag Market Basket! Using twine with round reed, weave red and white stripes, and add a blue overlay field.
Basket weaving experience is not required but is helpful. This is a long class, feel free to bring snacks, bottled water will be provided.
All weaving materials and supplies are included. Please note that the image depicts a swing handle, the actual project will use a stationary D handle.

Discover 250 years of American glassmaking. Immigrant craftsman and entrepreneurs initially focused production on the necessities—primarily windows and bottles. Regardless, glassblowers found opportunities to “play” in the factory.
This course will examine how the demand for skills and opportunities for creativity evolved with technology and design trends. Special emphasis is placed on the origins of the American Studio Glass movement and the shift from factory to studio.

A juried, touring exhibition, “Art Quilters Celebrate Independence,” will feature artwork by Studio Art Quilt Associates–Pennsylvania (SAQA-PA) in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
It premieres in Philadelphia, the cradle of liberty, at Moore College of Art & Design during the summer of 2026. Between forty and fifty innovative art quilts and quilted artworks will explore the broad meaning of independence and freedom of expression.
