As the country celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the League is about to launch preparations for its 100th anniversary in 2032.

With the Annual Craftsmen’s Fair used as the touchstone event to link the decades, enjoy the work and images of the League of the past through the present day. This exhibition uses photography from our archives and craft from our Permanent Collection Museum to bring history to life.

Fire Arts Inc is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.  We opened our doors in 2004 and achieved non-profit status in 2006.  Our mission is “to provide a place for 3-Dimensional artists to create their art and develop their careers; to foster appreciation for the arts in the community; to foster cultural awareness, creativity and positive self-esteem with outreach programs”.

FAI continues to be managed and maintained by a dedicated group of artists who volunteer their service.  Our 8200 sq ft building is primarily allocated to studio spaces, augmented by two small office spaces, and a showroom providing our artists with economic and exhibition opportunities.

Sculptors, potters and jewelers find our spaces flexible and our environment conducive to their creative growth. The public regularly attends our exhibits, tours, workshops and lectures.

As we mark the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence, The Women’s Caucus for Art posed artists the question and call: Independence for Whom?

This juried show features 46 works by 37 artists across the country, amplifying women’s voices, celebrating stories of independence, and using art to inspire transformative changes.

The show is hosted at the Workhouse Arts Center, a former prison which held suffragists in 1917 and played a pivotal role in the fight to pass the 19th Amendment.

Anna Wagner’s solo show, BEAST FEAST, is a study of the bloody economy of the animal/human world. In Anna’s intaglio prints and sculpture, the act of consumption is central. Her subjects reevaluate human/imal experiences: Does not the intimacy of the carnivore and her prey bleed through the boundary separating sacrificial violence and love?

The annual Artisans Studio Tour was founded in 1994 by a group of Charlottesville area artisans to enhance the community’s awareness of professional artisans living and working in the region. 2026 marks the 31st year of artisans collaborating to make a public showing of their work.

The second weekend of November, member artisans open their studios and working spaces to the public, welcoming visitors to meet the makers, watch demonstrations, and shop for fine crafts in the places they are made.
